I've just paid the £5 for the update (days 9-11) and from the e-mail that i received i downloaded the update that said days 9-11 and once its installed its still the same game days 1-8 ?

Sorry for the late reply here. Hmm, are you sure you downloaded the right file? That's the only thing I can think of. Let me know which $5 version you paid for (PC/Mac/Android) and we'll figure it out from there, if this is still an issue.

Ok let me get this straight...

There are now 2 versions of SIS, Elysium and Endurance.  Elys is 5$ and Endur is 20$ (per update).

Elys is included in Endur.  Future updates for each version will include the older version content.

So by skipping 3 or 4 updates and spending 20$ for days 18-20, I would get days 9-17 effectively for free.

May I suggest an alternative... an initial Elysium version price of say 10$ with subsequent updates being 3$ or such.  Endurance being 20$ and subsequent updates being 7.50$.  And to get the discounted updates you have to have paid for a full version.

And this of course leaves the question of is there a basic version that is still free.

I'm looking into doing something like this on my Patreon with annual subscriptions, wherein you pay for 8 months but get a full year of updates. In this example there would be a 33% discount of money saved. The math/setup of this hasn't been planned out quite yet, however.

And there will continue to be free versions of the game released month(s) after the paid versions are out, though they won't contain any Endurance/Elysium benefits.

I just started the game a few days ago, cool to see it's got an update since I'm really enjoying the story and characters.  One question though - how will future updates work?  If I buy the $20 version today, will I have to buy another $20 expansion for days 12-15?  Do I get a basic version of those days without the bonus content?  Just a little confused since it's move from pay what you want to different set pricing tiers, like level DLC almost?

Hey, first I wanted to say thanks for the kind words.

The Elysium Edition ($20) is for people who really want to support the game financially; it contains two side stories: Vespera, the MC's first girlfriend, and his adventures at a strip club, called Club Aegis.

So far, the Elysium Edition adds 6 characters, and there are a total of two scenes. These numbers will be expanded upon with each update to Stranded in Space.

However, the Elysium Edition content is not integral to the main plot of Stranded in Space. It is optional, meant for people who really want to support the game and want some extra content.

As far as your question goes: The next update (Days 12-13) have two more Elysium Edition scenes. This will also cost $20, but buying it will also give the current version of the game (Days 9-11) Elysium content.

So in other words, a one time purchase of any Elysium Edition will unlock all Elysium Edition content, up to that point.

I assume the same applies to the Endurance edition?  Like get it, then same deal for Days 12-13 (buy the Endurance version of those days or opt for the Elysium version)?

Do the scenes or laptop conversations added take place before days 9-11?  Just checking if its worth starting over the small amount of content I've done with the new release.

Thanks and keep up the good work Wildman.

Edit: There is no bonus content for Days 1-8 (base game).

Yes, if you buy the Endurance version at any point, you'll unlock all the bonus laptop conversations released up to that point.

For now there are 3 bonus conversations that take place, one each day on, Days 9, 10, and 11. When the next update comes out (Days 12-13) if you bought the Endurance edition, you'd unlock the 3 bonus ones for that update and have access to the previous, aforementioned one.

Buying the Elysium Edition ($20) unlocks all released Endurance content as well.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'll have to play from the beginning anyway - I'd been forgetting to save and when I tried to message Skylar (day 4 I think? - the day after you help Camilla move a sofa and she sends you the face and then topless pic) I got a weird error and clicking ignore (which was the only one that seemed to do anything) sent me back to the title screen where I realised I hadn't saved since naming my character.  I'll take a screenshot if it happens again.  Still, looking forward to seeing where this goes and some more pre-ship info on my guy will be cool to learn.

Im enjoying almost all of the new content. The exception being Umiko's hidden picture game.       Is there actually some little picture hidden in the background of one of the pictures? Or is the secret just clicking on every pixel in each photo until i click on the magic pixels?

It's definitely there, and much bigger than a pixel, but I feel your pain. When I playtest it I have all the pictures for playthrough purposes and it's taken me like five minutes to find it. Then I reload and have to do it again, lol.

It's 30x17, which is... still small. But shaped like a normal laptop picture (widescreen landscape orientation). In this update I made it to where it's a placed little more centralized. Still random, of course, but... not as close to the edges.

Do we need to play both versions?

No, the $20 version has the $5 stuff

That makes sense. Also, I hadn't noticed this update was paywalled
